We are the G-WIZZ group. Who, I hear you ask yourself. Well, we are a bunch of G Scale modellers who live on the Fylde coast area of Lancashire, England. Most of us have our own G scale garden railways, all of which have featured in Garden Rail magazine. The group was formed in 1993 with the aim of promoting the garden railway hobby in general, and "G" scale in particular. A new photograph of the group will appear shortly.
We are responsible for the award winning G-WIZZ exhibition layout that you may have seen at various model railway exhibitions around Great Britain. The plan was to replace the usual practice of some track on a table top with a real garden, complete with grass, trees, plants and stone walls. The first display was at Lytham in 1994 using track from members gardens, however track and control equipment has since been obtained which removed the need for members to strip their gardens of track for every exhibition. The full story of how the layout has evolved can be found on this site.
