EXHIBITION NEWSFLASH!

North West Garden Railway and Narrow Gauge Exhibition 2007

The plans for this years show are now well advanced, it’s hard to realise that this event is now in it’s seventh year and still going strong. Much of this success is due to the fantastic support that we get from the G-Scale Society and especially the North West Area Members, for whose support we are always grateful. As usual the venue will be the Lytham St.Annes High Technology College, Worsley Road, Ansdell, LYTHAM St.ANNES. The dates for this years event are Saturday and Sunday October 13th & 14th.

Our growing numbers of visitors are making a weekend of it visiting Blackpool Illuminations and the Pleasure Beach as well as the show. Those exhibiting this year include John Preston, who will be showing his new layout for the first time, Walter and Marion Turner, will be bringing their huge Playmobil layout, Geoff Meek and Tom Sherridan will be flying the flag for the North West G Scale Group with Geoff’s G scale USA layout, no doubt they will be successful in attracting new members to the group! The big trams are back again with Terry Daniel’s layout, The Fylde Model Engineers will be present with their superb model engineering display, this year the spectacular 16mm Rowland’s Lodge award winning live steam layout making another welcome appearance .The North Fylde MRC will be bringing two layouts to the event, both in On30. Of course the whole G-Wizz Team will be there with the Garden Railway demonstrating analogue and digital systems. G Scale Society member Dale Gillard will be attending with Hampton End. There will be two smaller scale narrow gauge layouts, one from John Varley from Leeds, and one from Roger Pound from Lytham. With confirmed exhibits from 2mm to 5” gauge with a strong G scale line up we are looking forward to another great weekend.

As usual, we have very strong trade support, including, Bill and Alison Pinch, (Bay Models) Steve Warrington ( Back 2 Bay 6) plus Tuxcraft, Railbus, Locobox, Modeltown Buildings, as well as the team from SMTF Models .We are joined this year by Ivan Prior from IP Engineering. The preservation scene will be represented by displays by the West Lancashire Light Railway, Ribble Steam Trust and the Festiniog Railway. With the autumn nights drawing in everyone will be able to stock up with those essential items needed to continue modelling through the Winter Months.

Up to date details of the show and directions to it will be found on our website www.g-wizz-group.co.uk
