Bill and Ben

We had the bright idea that we could make a theme for the layout based on Bill and Ben, the flowerpot men, however this was without the aid of any photographs or drawings. After much head scratching we produced two fairly authentic looking flower pot men, the next quest was to produce an animated and moving weed.

Fortunately for us, one of the group had seen how Blackpool Illuminations department had produced something similar, and so our weed moves with the aid of an electric motor in the flower-pot driving a bent wire over which green garden hose was placed as the stem. On the top was a soft toy flower which was modified into weed. Our efforts were quite successful, as you will see in the photo below.
